Early Years Single Agency Training - Induction

Single Agency Child Protection Induction Training—for non-Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) practitioners

'Working Together 2015' places a duty on all employers to ensure that their staff are competent to carry out their responsibilities for safeguarding and promoting children's and young people's welfare. 

All Early Years and Childcare Practitioners in Gloucestershire, who are not the Designated Safeguarding Lead, are invited to attend a 3 hour training course. This includes all Early Years staff working with the under 5's, nursery staff, day care settings, and childminders (who are not the designated safeguarding lead) etc. Sessions offered include mornings, afternoons, Saturdays and evenings.

The training is delivered in partnership with the Gloucestershire Safeguarding Children Board (GSCB) and early years staff  have had their places on these courses funded by the Early Years Child Care Services without incurring a charge.

The following 3 hour courses are currently available across Gloucestershire from May 2015 to March 2016, further dates will be added shortly.

Child Protection - Induction

• For staff who are new to this role in Early Years.
• To enable you to understand your role in safeguarding children and how to do this confidently and timely with your local authority procedures.  
• Staff must update this training within 3 years.
