CRUSH Programme facilitated by GDASS
CRUSH is a structured programme of group support and empowerment for young people in the age range 13-19 that are at risk of, or affected by, domestic abuse. It provides an experiential resource that aims to support young people to avoid abusive relationships, exit an abusive relationship safely or better manage their exposure to domestic abuse.
The purpose of CRUSH is to provide an awareness of what constitutes a healthy and unhealthy relationship by following four characters throughout the ten-week programme. It is an interactive programme and this allows it to cater for the needs of the group and its individual members. The programme helps build confidence and social skills along with increasing a young person's self awareness.
CRUSH was created by West Mercia Women's Aid and is facilitated by GDASS with Families First Plus and The Youth Support Teams. It is being funded by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner and will be running in Gloucester, Cheltenham, Tewkesbury and Forest of Dean.
