Health Sub Committee

Our aim is�to ensure that all NHS Professionals have appropriate levels of skill to protect and promote the safeguarding of children and young people.

Objectives

  • To ensure that health services fully implement the child protection processes agreed as a result of legislation, guidance and best practice advice and in the implementation of recommendations from the GSCB in response to any of the above, or from Serious Case Reviews (as appropriate)

  • To ensure through the Performance Sub Committee, the monitoring and reviewing of guidelines/policies/strategies for child protection for health service staff in Gloucestershire

  • Through the Performance Sub Committee, review and recommend standards for child protection and to coordinate, audit and monitor child protection standards

  • To identify significant issues arising from child protection work, through audit, serious case reviews or reports from individuals/organisations, and make recommendations to the GSCB Executive for their solutions

  • To monitor the effectiveness of the GSCB Health Training Strategy and make recommendations/revisions as necessary to the training sub committee.

  • To support the participation of staff in child protection research and to bring messages from research
