Aims
This
course aims to provide staff with a revision and update of their
previous child protection training in order to ensure their knowledge
reflects current practice and research in order to be able to respond
appropriately.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this programme, participants
will be able to:

Demonstrate a basic
knowledge of child abuse in line with current research and practice

Demonstrate an
increased understanding of their own and other agencies roles and the
need to work together

Demonstrate their
knowledge of and ability to involve families and children in the child
protection process

Demonstrate their
knowledge of assessment and decision making skills in identifying and
appropriately responding to incidents of abuse

Demonstrate knowledge
of and ability to use GSCB procedures

Pre requisite:
Participants must have attended the basic
introduction to child protection course (ML2044) before attending this
course.
�
Target Audience:
This course is available to all staff who have
undertaken the introduction to child protection and are updating their
knowledge in line with current legislation.
�
Approach:
The course is a combination of facilitator input,
interactive discussion, case studies and exercises.
�
